Continuous Improvement
A programme of capital and other expenditure is designed to meet the developing needs and expectations of Bromley’s elderly people, as well as the requirements of new legislation. In particular, many prospective residents now seek two-room accommodation, ie separate bedroom and lounge, with full en-suite facilities, a shower as well as toilet.
We have completed three such flatlets and more are planned as physical and financial feasibility allow. These developments will also enable us to accommodate some couples, for whom little or no provision exists at present. Additionally, we have installed en-suite showers in some bed-sitting rooms, and more are planned subject to residents’ wishes.
This year we have also installed an additional stairlift, a new exterior entry system, and a new nurse call system in both houses.Repairs and maintenance works are covered by income from residents, but the capital spending programme is financed by donations from individuals, fundraising events , legacies and charitable foundations.

We hold quality assurance certification under the Abbeyfield Standard and are accredited by the London Borough of Bromley for the Supporting People programme
